Brand strategy and brand identity for growing companies

PromotEdge International is an international web, digital marketing and AI company. We help businesses in the USA, Canada and other markets decide what they stand for, who they are for and how they should look and sound. Our delivery team is in India, and we run this work remotely, through video workshops, online research and shared documents.

In short

Brand strategy is the set of decisions behind everything a company says: who it serves, why they should choose it over the alternatives, and what it will not be. Brand identity is how those decisions look and sound, in the name, logo, colors, type and voice.

You need this work when your marketing says different things in different places, when you are entering a new market or category, or when a merger or new product has blurred who you are. A company still searching for product-market fit should keep it light.

Brand strategy services we offer

You can take the whole program, or just the piece you are missing.

  • Brand strategy and positioning

The one clear reason a chosen group of buyers should pick you, written so that your whole team can use it.

  • Brand architecture

How your company, products and sub-brands relate, so that buyers are never confused and new launches have a home.

  • Brand vision, mission and personality

What you are working towards, why it matters, and how the brand behaves when it speaks. We keep it short enough to remember.

  • Brand identity

Logo, color, type, tone of voice and templates, with brand guidelines your team and suppliers can follow.

  • Marketing strategy

Which channels and messages carry the brand to market, and in what order.

  • Engagement and content strategy

What you talk about, where, and how you keep people interested between purchases.

  • Target group and journey mapping

Who buys, who influences them, and what each person needs to see on the way to a decision.

  • Media evaluation

A review of where your budget goes today, and whether those channels reach your target group.

How we build your brand strategy

[CONFIRM: Sayantan Guha reads this page and confirms these steps match client work]

  1. Defining the purpose

We agree why this work is happening, who decides, and what will change once it is done.

  2. Research

We talk to your customers, your staff and your sales team, and read what the market says about you.

  3. Category mapping

We chart what your rivals all claim, to find what is taken and what is open.

  4. Knowing the audience

We define who you are for, and just as important, who you are not for.

  5. Deriving the approach

We bring a few possible positions to a workshop, and you choose one with your leaders.

  6. Creative rendition

The chosen position becomes a visual and verbal identity, tested on real pages and ads before it is final.

Who does the work, and from where

The work is delivered by our team in India. We travel to our clients every 3 to 4 months.

Why brand work ends up in a drawer, and how we avoid it

These are typical situations, not results from a named client.

  • The strategy is too long to use

A hundred-slide deck helps nobody at a Tuesday meeting. We end with one page your team can quote, and detail behind it for those who need it.

  • It reads like every rival

Words like trusted, innovative and customer-first fit anyone. We test each line by asking whether a competitor could say it too.

  • Leaders do not agree

Brand work often brings out a disagreement about the business itself. We speak to each leader first, so the workshop settles the real question.

  • A new logo stands in for a strategy

A fresh look can hide a muddled offer for a while. We work out the position first, then design from it.

  • Nobody uses the guidelines

Rules in a PDF get ignored. We hand over templates for the things your team makes each week, and show them how to use them.

  • The brand does not fit a new market

A message that works at home can fall flat in the USA or Canada. We test it with local buyers online before you commit, and we check names and claims for the market.

Questions buyers ask us

Why is brand positioning important for a new brand?

A new brand has little time and money, so it cannot talk to everyone. Clear positioning tells you which buyers to chase and what to say to them, and it makes each later decision faster and cheaper.

Are brand positioning or architecture exercises relevant for smaller companies?

Positioning is, at any size, though a small company can do it in a few sessions. Architecture only matters once you have several products or brands. We scale the work to what you need.

Is strategy different for B2B and B2C?

The method is the same, and the emphasis differs. B2B brands reduce risk for a group of careful buyers, so proof and clarity carry the most weight. B2C brands often compete on feeling and habit, so identity and repetition do more work.

Is brand strategy relevant for B2B companies?

Yes. Buyers choose suppliers they have heard of and trust, often long before they inquire. A clear position also helps your sales team, as they can stop reinventing the pitch.

How does research fit into a brand strategy?

It keeps the work honest. Customer interviews show why people really chose you, and they often differ from what the company believes. We use that to test each idea before you commit.

Are strategy and communications connected?

Yes. Strategy decides what to say, and communications decide how to say it in each place. If the two are split, the strategy stays on a slide. So we build messages and templates as part of the work.

Can a strategy exercise be done independently of an agency?

It can. A strong in-house leader with time set aside can run much of it. An outside team helps when leaders disagree, when you need honest customer interviews, or when nobody has the hours.

Are you a full-service strategic branding agency, and can the work be done remotely?

Yes. Interviews, workshops and reviews all run well on video, and we travel to our clients every 3 to 4 months. Our delivery team is in India, and we set calls in your working hours. We are available round the clock, 24x7, as per your location.

How much does brand strategy cost?

There is no public price list. The cost follows how much research you need, how many brands or products are involved, and whether identity work is included. You see the scope and the fee in writing before work starts.

Who does the work?

Sayantan Guha, our Chief Creative Director, leads brand work. Sunanda Basak works on UI/UX design and Sourav Majumder on creative design. They use licensed tools and software.
