Custom WordPress development company for the USA and Canada
PromotEdge International works as a custom WordPress development company for businesses in the United States, Canada and other markets. We design, build and look after WordPress sites that your own staff can update. Our delivery team is in India.
In short
WordPress suits a company site, blog or content site that changes often, because your staff can edit it without calling a developer, it works well with SEO, and a large community keeps it supported. It is a flexible CMS, from small company sites up to enterprise sites. Custom development, or bespoke WordPress solutions, means the site is built around your content and your brand, with only the plugins it needs.
It suits you less if selling products is the main job, where Shopify may be simpler, or if the site is really a software product. We will say so if that is the case.
WordPress development services we offer
Take a full build, or just the part you are stuck on.
WordPress website development
New sites built from a plan, with templates for each kind of page so that the site stays consistent as it grows. Forms, tracking and structured data are part of the build from the start.
WordPress website design
WordPress website designing, from page plans and wireframes to interface design in your brand, phone first.
Custom themes and blocks
Theme customization, or a theme made for your site, with blocks your editors can use safely and no leftover demo features. It carries only the code your pages use, which helps speed.
WooCommerce stores
Ecommerce stores on WordPress for companies that want full control of content and checkout. We plan for the extra hosting and upkeep a store needs.
Redesigns and moves to WordPress
Content and old addresses carried across from another platform, with redirects tested before launch.
Speed and security fixes
Repair work on an existing site that is slow, hacked or held together by old plugins.
WordPress website maintenance
Ongoing site management: core and plugin updates on a test copy first, backups and uptime checks. You get a short note each month on what changed.
WordPress support
Small changes and fixes after launch, through one named contact.
Managed hosting

Discovery, research and strategy
We learn who the site is for, what it must do and what ranks today, so nothing that earns traffic gets lost.
Design and user experience
You approve the page plan, then wireframes, then the design, in that order, with your real content in place.
Development and integration
We build on a test site, keep the code in version control and connect your CRM, forms and analytics.
Testing and performance
Phones and browsers, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, security settings, and a real test lead through every form.
Launch and ongoing support
We back up, redirect, go live and watch the site. We then train your editors and agree who looks after updates.

Common WordPress problems, and how we handle them
These are typical situations, not results from a named client.
Too many plugins
Each plugin adds code to load and one more thing that can break. We build common features into the theme, and keep plugins to those that earn their place.
A page builder slows everything down
Heavy builders load a lot of code on every page. We check whether yours is the cause, and move the main templates to native blocks if it is.
An old plugin lets someone in
A lot of WordPress trouble starts with something left out of date, or a login shared too widely. We update on a schedule, limit who can be an admin, and keep clean backups.
An update breaks the site
We apply updates to a test copy first, check the main pages and forms, and only then touch the live site.
Editors are scared to touch anything
If one wrong click can break a page, staff stop updating the site. We build blocks with limited options, and record a short guide for your team.
Cheap hosting holds the site back
A good build can still feel slow on a crowded server. We test the host before launch, and tell you if a move would make more difference than more code.
Nobody owns the site after launch
Without a named owner, updates stop and problems pile up. Before launch, we agree in writing who looks after what.
Questions buyers ask us
Should I use a WordPress agency or a freelancer?
WordPress development agencies and freelancers suit different jobs. A freelancer or a single WordPress specialist suits a small site with a clear brief, and an agency or development firm with WP experts suits a bigger build. If you would rather hire someone by the month, see hiring WordPress developers. An agency suits a build that needs design, development, SEO and testing at once, or a site that needs someone on hand after launch. With a freelancer, ask who takes over if they are away.
How do you handle coding standards, performance and security?
We follow the WordPress coding standards, so the next developer can read the code. Performance is tested against Core Web Vitals on phones, before launch and after. For security, we keep admin accounts to a minimum, use two-step login, and update on a schedule.
WordPress or Shopify: which suits my business?
Choose WordPress if your site lives on content, or if you need pages and layouts that a store template would fight. Choose Shopify if selling products is the main job and you want hosting, checkout and security looked after for you. Our web design page sets out all the options.
Is post-launch support included?
A short period of fixes after launch is part of the scope. Ongoing maintenance is a separate plan, because a site needs regular updates for as long as it runs. [CONFIRM: U14 length of the launch period, and care plan terms]
Is WordPress good for SEO?
It gives you what SEO needs: clean addresses, editable titles and easy publishing, and it works with common SEO plugins. A poor theme or a slow host can still hold you back, so the build matters as much as the platform.
Can you take over or repair a site someone else built?
Yes. We start with a review of the theme, plugins, hosting and security, and then tell you whether to repair it or rebuild parts of it. If you do not have admin and hosting access, you will need to get that from your last supplier first.
How much does a custom WordPress website cost?
There is no public price list. The cost follows the number of page templates, the amount of custom design, the integrations and how much content needs moving or writing. You see the scope and the fee in writing before work starts.
Who owns the site, and who does the work?
Outsourcing to an offshore team works when ownership is clear: you should own the site, the domain and the hosting account, and paid plugins go on your account. Benjamin Sardar, our Web Lead, runs WordPress projects with Avijit Bhattacherjee, who leads the website coding team on front end and back end, and Raju Barui, a backend developer. We travel to our clients every 3 to 4 months, and we are available round the clock, 24x7, as per your location.
